May 24, 2017

City Council Special Meeting

 

 

Item #1: Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Hemmesch called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at Richmond City Hall.

 

Council Members noted as being present: Jim Hemmesch, Michael Ricke, Mike Mathiasen, Tim Paczkowski

 

Also present were: Tesa Tomaschett, City Administrator-Clerk; James Worm; Austin Stang; Larry Hokanson; Heidi Stalboerger, Wakefield Township Clerk;

 

Item #2: Approval of Agenda

 

Mayor Hemmesch asked for any additions or changes, hearing none, he asked for a motion to approve agenda.

 

Motion made by Councilor Paczkowski to approve the agenda, seconded by Councilor Mathiasen.  Motion passed.

 

Item #3: City Council Interviews

Jim Worm

 

Mayor Hemmesch thanked all of the applicants for interviewing.          

 

Item # 3: Discuss Interviews

 

Resolution 128-17 Appointment to fill Council Vacancy

 

Council members discussed the interviews.

 

Motion made by Councilor Mathiasen to approve the Resolution 128-17:  Appointment of Larry Hokanson to fill Council Vacancy, seconded by Councilor Paczkowski.   Motion passed.

 

Item # 4: Additional Items

 

  1. Following Established Procedures:  Mayor Hemmesch reminded the members that we need to follow procedures.  Administrator Tomaschett reminded them to direct the complaints, questions and agenda items to City Hall first and let the Administrator and the staff does their jobs.    Both reminded them that agenda item requests need to go through the Administrator’s office and she will review them and discuss with the Mayor.

Tomaschett reported that she did notify the department heads about this as well.

  1. Mayor Hemmesch appointed Larry Hokanson to the Planning Commission. 
  2. Tri-City Cable – Council needs to have 2 people represent the City of Richmond attend.  They will bring this back to another meeting.  Next meeting is July 26th at 5:00 pm.

                               

Item #5: Adjournment

Mayor Hemmesch asked for any additional items. 

Hearing none Mayor Hemmesch declared the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
